Fishing newbie here! I catch a lot of bass but I’ve never caught one without a pattern. This is indeed a largemouth… right?

It looks like a smallmouth to me, based on the eye being behind the mouth. With that being said, I’m pretty new to fishing so I’m not 100% sure. Looks cool though

That’s common in dirty or stained water, clear water is where you get real pretty patterned largemouth.

Does the water look like chocolate milk?? This is a bass that is living in stained water.

equals pale/not getting much sun. we got real stained water in this local lake i fish at and they pretty pale.
