I fished a hook this style the other day and it worked quite well. I’ve had issues with hookup ratios on a gamakatsu siwash hook. These “beak” or “stinger” style hooks seem to work a little better. I tie in 50lb braid to a split ring, it allows the hook to move a bit more freely than a siwash.
