I moved to Norway not that long ago and I’m trying to get into fishing here. Earlier I did some fishing in another city but recently moved to a new place. So far I’ve gone out 4 times here and only caught one pollock. Clearly I’m missing something—any tips for finding decent spots?

I’ve tried the free version of the Fish Buddy app but I’m not sure how accurate it is. How do you locals figure out where to go (shore vs. pier vs. fjord, maps, tide charts, Google satellite, asking at tackle shops)? Also curious about what species to target this time of year, basic rigs/lures that work well here, and any must-know rules or etiquette.

I’m mostly fishing after work and on weekends. Happy to hear about general strategies or areas to look for. 😇
