I want to build a bait trap. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x6JAQJhuJ0
But where would I get wire mesh for it?
In the comments, they mention that Home Depot or other hardware or gardening stores would have. But all I can find are thin-gauge wire mesh. I can't find this thick mesh anywhere.
And any wire mesh with thick wire usually has a mesh of 2 inches or more. But those traps are 1 inch mesh, and sometimes even 1/2 inch.
Does anyone know where to buy wire mesh for bait traps?

You might be able to find some at tractor supply
I used 1/4″ grid chicken wire for my crawdad/crab traps I crafted. Probably would be fine for a minnow trap.
Got it by the roll at Home Depot.
Janns Netcraft
Memphis Net and Twine.
You should be able to find what you need here, they have wire mesh as small as 1/2″x1/2″ at 16 gauge. It ain’t cheap though, you’re better off just buying a trap unless you’re looking to make some crazy customized thing. Check farm supply stores or places that sell commercial fishing gear, they usually carry heavier gauge mesh. Memphis Net and Twine or Janns Netcraft are good bets if you’re ordering online.
