Floated the Arolik river for 8 days out to where it dumps into the Bering Sea. Lots of trout on the mouse, Dollie’s, silvers and chums. Dumped on us for several days, but we did get a couple of clear and chilly ones. Mousing was on fire – can’t post videos here though. No huge trout – most 16-20”, but tons of them. River blew out for the 2nd half of the trip though – relegated to fishing sloughs and back eddies. Still had some fish in them. That’s the downside to a lot of the western Alaska streams – they’re prone to blow out in August.
Have floated most of the western AK rivers – all have their pros/cons, but they’re all pristine and beautiful.
