How do you guys keep your soft plastic on your Wacky Rig hook when catching a fish?

Whenever I catch a bass using the wacky rig, they always tend to either be gone completely or slide up my leader line (as shown in the picture)?

Does it matter if the worm slides or not? I feel like since it moves so much the wear and tear destroys the worm so fast.
