Bit of a concern. New to owning an aquarium. I got is earlier this year. All going well with the fish in there. But in the last month or so there has been an explosion in bladder snail numbers.
Is there anything I need to do? They're cleaning up quite well. But there must be 100+ now in this 20 gallon tank.
They are EVERYWHERE!
I do the test strips every so often and everything seems fine. They're just thriving in there.

Hi! Try feeding less. This kind of snail repr9duces quickly based on the amount of fo9d available. Feeding less leaves less resources and will reduce the numbers.
I had this happen. Ill probably get told to never do this again but ive done it a few times and no tank crash… scrub out your filter and hoses. My pump stopped working because there were so many snails in there and the tubes were filled with eggs.
So… scrub at your own risk. Those lil guys get everywhere!
Assassin snail?
here what i do for bladder snaill , i throw each night a slice of fruit then pick it and throw in the trash each morning , you will always find snails stuck it .
For bladder snails at least the issue are the adults , the younger ones almost all fish prey on them and swallow them whole if they can
maybe consider fish that eats snail . assassin snail means you are trading one snail for the other
Keep, for some tanks they are a life saver i purposely breed them in a separate tank then use them as my janitorial units 😩🙏😁.
Snails are a good thing, they break down waste and nothing to be concerned about. Lower your feeding and over time their population should reduce
They’re cleanup crew, no need to remove them. Just figure out why there’s so much food in the tank. They need food to reproduce, overpopulation can only happen when there is too much food in the tank.
