Bought this line via Cortland website. It’s only been on a reel for like 2 months..is this normal? There are a handful of other nicks in the line which I know are normal but this seems one seems a little early. Would asking for a replacement be out of line?

Not normal, is cooked from a loop perspective. I’d ask for a replacement.
That said, the line itself is fine it’s just the loop breaking from the picture. You could just snip it off and nail knot to the line above that and it would fish exactly the same. But frankly I’m a loop truther and would be very frustrated by line this new having that issue, I’d 100% shoot them an email or something
Contact Cortland or just put a new loop on it. It can be done with mono and probably backing.
