Howdy, my favorite reservoirs are all closing their ramps for the fall so I'm switching to fishing the Connecticut and Farmington rivers.
There's tons of carp, trout, bass, catfish, etc. but I'm having trouble catching in rivers, either from bank or the boat. I usually run a Daiwa tatula for lures, a kastking brutus combo as my do-all, and a 5' berkely rigged for curlytails/neds, or maybe a nightcrawler harness.
I'm targeting structure and drop offs, but I'm not having much luck, I'm planning to swap the Daiwa to an older slow action rod for trolling flies for trout, then a dropper rig for catfish.
Any other tips? Boat tax included, I use a pelican Catch Pwr 100 with a 55lb trolling motor and a garmin striker 4 fishfinder.
