We’re still in grasshopper season, so you may wish a few additional colors for hopper/dropper setups. But I would defer to the info available from The Driftless Angler in Viroqua. They have publish fishing reports multiple times per week on their website ( [https://www.driftlessangler.com/](https://www.driftlessangler.com/) ) that can also provide info.

Wisconsin here. You’re going to want double that amount of hoppers and caddis, then get some Adams and BWO in every size and you’re ready to rock

Pink Squirrels. Go see Geri and Mat at the Driftless Angler.

I smacked a bunch of brookies on the Iowa side a few years ago on grizzly king wet flies

Only thing i would add is terrestrials and then resupply or replenish the other floes you are low on.

Just got back from two days in the Driftless ( I go 6-7 times a year for at least a day and a half ).
Here’s what I recommend:
1. Pink Squirrels Pink Squirrels Pink Squirrels – I like sizes 14-16
2. Beetles. Driftless Anglers sells a “Bad Axe Beetle” that’s pretty solid. I like smaller ones, like a size 16, but you can go bigger – especially if you want to run a dropper.
3. Chubbies. Personally, I like smaller Chubby Chernobyl’s – – – like a Micro CC from MFC…. Sizes 14-16 do the trick
4. Parachute Adams – – – 14-18 probably work
5. Caddis – – – I caught a lot of fish on the tactical Caddis with the hi vis orange blowtorch ( got’em at Big Y Flies online – – – the smaller ones worked best… a variety of Caddis tend to work…
6. Orange Scuds – – – 14-16
7. Prince Nymphs size 16 ( I’d say the same for Hare’s Ear and Pheasant Tails )
8. whatever they tell you at Driftless Angler. Either on the fishing report, or in-store…
9. Black Wooly Buggers, thin mint wooly buggers… leeches, etc. – – – save these for those deeper holes.
10. did I mention Pink Squirrels?

You can slay Wisconsin creeks year round (when open) with five fly patterns (some, like chubbies, are season dependent):

BWO (size 18ish)
Chubby Chernobyl (big and juicy – size 10?)
Pink Squirrel (size 16)
Copper John (size 16)
Zebra Midge (size 18)
Bonus fly if you want it is a Parachute Adams in like size 16 or slightly larger.
Patt’s rubber legs are super effective there in my experience.
