The rod says ocean master 7’ and the reel/gear(whatever u call it) says shimano saragosa.
I have used my friends fishing rod(no idea what kind but much more flexible than this) for fishing in lakes. Tried to google on this and didn’t really tell me if it would be good for lakes. What kind of wire should I get for it?sorry complete newbie here and wanna learn and do fishing in lakes as sea is not nearby.

I’d say it’s pretty good for catching fish.
That’s a pretty stout combo for small tuna or grouper

Could probably put it to good use for catfish, musky or northern.
If you are inshore, that would make a rather good Catfish Combo. How much did you pay for it?
Big reel, rod looks like a medium heavy based on how thick it is. That would be great for catfish or saltwater fishing
