Hi I'm a right handed caster and more often than not I'm either casting in front or off to my left. I was curious what other anglers would recommend for anchor trolley position. In a lake it would be more versatile, but I'm more concerned about rivers. If I put it on the left side than it would position my kayak to where I'm casting upstream, where as the right would be more downstream, or maybe I'm overthinking it. Any thoughts or advice?

Left side so you can hold onto your rod comfortably while managing your anchor if needed.
Which can also mean reeling in your anchor if you have a reel of some sort like the anchor wizard or similar option from Yakattack, YakGadget, ETC
I do mine on the right side and I’m a righty. I don’t find myself having to adjust it very frequently once it’s fine tuned to the current and wind. Saltwater flats fishing here
