Five years ago, I picked up fishing. For the first four, I leaned on others to guide me—where to cast, when to set the hook, what bait to use. I was learning, but not fully steering the boat, so to speak.
This summer changed everything. I finally feel confident in choosing my own path on the water—deciding which species I want to target, selecting my own lures and bait, and trusting my instincts. It’s like something clicked, and now fishing feels like an adventure that’s truly mine.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and grateful that I stuck with it. What started as a borrowed skill has grown into my own passion—wandering the woods, exploring the lakes, and catching fish with my own two hands.
