I've been wanting to kayak fish for awhile and one of my kayaks has four of these holes on the bottom, are they there for a reason or am I gonna sink the second I hit the water?

  1. Those are scupper holes. Pretty much drains for when the water is choppy. You can get scupper plugs for when you’re on smaller bodies of water with calmer currents.

Those are scupper holes. They allow water to flow out of the kayak. It’s called self-bailing. Helps with stability and of course, keeps water out the inside of the kayak. They help you stay afloat.
