First +5lb in over two years. Now my top three are 5-7(2021), 5-8(yesterday), and 5-9(06/2023).
Scale says 5-9, but the lip clip weighs about an ounce. Anybody else factor that in?
I was so sure it was my new PB. Pulled it outta the water and literally said “there’s my 6!!”
5” white Zoom fluke weightless on a heavy duty 4/0 EWG hook.
The line was slack, as it was sinking, and suddenly jumped like I’ve never seen. He must have grabbed it and run immediately. Hooked in the bottom jaw.
Great fight. Pulled tons of drag and jumped a couple times. Somehow slotted between my previous top two…
Also, it’s been so long since I got a fish worth weighing. Anybody who doesn’t really weigh bass would have held it and guessed 8-10lbs. A lesson to everybody to whom it applies: get a scale if you’re interested in weights!!
