So been doing research and some first hand trial and error. Trying to make a list of lure/bait type along with what reel gear ratio and rod power i should be using for each. I know its not concrete and there are always exceptions here and there. But just wanted a general guide to follow when setting up my combos. (Click on pic for full view)
Any input on popular types of fishing i missed or helpful difference of options are appreciated. Just trying to learn more and make a "cheat sheet"
P.s. This is mainly for baitcasters. But spinning reel info is also welcomed.

I mean I only dropshot on a ML spinning rod unless we’re talking a power shot, but otherwise that is a fine compilation of autism if I’ve ever seen it!
Each of us have different abilities and skills. For example, how one person walks the dog can be very different from someone else. Not sure what this classification does, what the benefit is tbh.
Personally, I’d put the spinner in the medium category at worst.
Bro just fish with what you have. Too much thought into it.
My only concern about that is that your gear ratios seem a little high. A lot of the spinning reels that I see max out in like the six range.
I’ve owned spinning reels from 5.2 to 6.2 and baitcasters I’ve seen in the 6-7 so it’s a bit jarring to see all of that considered slow.
Edit also your tism organization is really fucking with my tism organization when it comes to gear ratios because your list has inconsistency on overlaps.
-Slow -> medium slow has full overlap
-then med slow-> med has no overlap
-But Medium -> med fast has overlap
-And med fast -> fast has overlap
So it makes med slow feel redundant or that slow should end with a smaller gear ratio and medium should start with a smaller gear ratio (or push med slow to end at a higher ratio with at least a little overlap with medium
In not so many words
6.3 appears 3x while 7.1 only appears 2x
The top end of slow, med slow, and bottom of medium shouldn’t be the same med slow should have at least some overlap with medium or it just feels like med slow is a redundant category with slow/slow goes to high
Walking baits youll likely want a medium heavy rod
Chatterbaits I run on a slightly slower reel, can speed up if need be, tougher to reel slower.
Swim jig rod is totally dependent on the size of the swim jig.
Fast reel for jerkbait to pick up slack and rod depending on size of jerkbaits
Prop baits are whopper ploppers too so not sure what you want here
Drop shot ml or light, easier to get on spinning gear. And I use a faster reel.
Spinners? Like spinnerbaits or rooster tails because spinnerbaits a fairly quick reel isn’t bad with a moderate rod so you can burn them over weeds. Spinners a medium heavy rod is super overkill.
Honestly your way over thinking it, unless you’re trying to go pro it doesnt matter. I fish with 2 rods most times and toss whatever i need to on both of those rods.
I mistook the gear speed for the rod action. I’d like to see a list that can differentiate the two somehow.
