So, I got my JDM SLX DC 71HG, last week. This is my second baitcaster (first was casted ~10 times, and was left on the shelf, years ago). At the moment, had just only two hours to check it up, and try to use it properly. So I went to closest body of water, and started to learn… started with unhooked kastmaster 1/2 oz, switched to 3/8 oz chatterbait later.
.
First: I’ve spooled to little line (took PowerPro’s 10lb braid for learning). Now, re-spooled with some fluoro backing.
.
Second: as far as I’ve understood, while casting, the release momentum is much more later on bc, comparing to spinning (please, tell me if I’m wrong here).
.
Third: for the Fck sake, I was amazed in difference of how much information you’re getting “in-hand” with chatterbait, compared to spinning.
.
Well, it went much better than I was hoping, looks like since I’m fishing with other type reels for more than 30 years, it wasn’t so difficult to understand how the things are going with bc reel. I didn’t catch a dramatic birds nest. 😁 but, let’s see how it will go with a full spool. 😅
