Chartered a guide on the Tenorio river in guanacaste through u/flyfishingcostarica and had an epic time. All together we landed 6 machaca, and then, by luck, I got a ladyfish in the surf at the resort we stayed at. Great trip, great people, awesome fish, mediocre Spanish (by me).

Nice work! I went Machaca fishing in January on the Rio sarapiqui and it was a blast. I only landed two but it was some of the most fun fishing I’ve done. Had. Probably over 100 looks, but was really slow on hook sets. It’s funny how it’s not very well known when it’s some of the best top water fishing and fights.
