I am just curious if anyone has some insight. I just started getting more into fishing this year. I fished growing up but it was when I was too young to really pick up on fish movement and location patterns. My Grandfather was a walleye fisherman so most of what I did was jigging from a boat for walleye and not much bass fishing. I have done lots of self learning with some success but I’m just looking for more ideas.

I have included a map of the lake I fish regularly with some finger-painting on it, as well as a depth chart. The red area is pretty much off limits to me as a bank fisherman (hopefully kayak in the near future.) The east end is where I have fished the most. I have caught fish in the green areas but almost exclusively along the reeds in a couple feet of water. The yellow areas are extremely over fished (the whole lake is pretty pressured honestly), as there are people there almost every time I am out. Lastly the orange area is where I have caught my PB’s. Two fish that were 4 lbs and some change. It seems like there is a little deeper hole there where bigger fish hang out. It’s probably 8-10 ft deep there. The rest of the east end is relatively shallow (seems like 1-6 feet) and the deeper parts are out of casting range for me.

Given the shape of the lake and the depth chart, does anyone have any other advice for places and methods for me to try there? Most of my luck has been top water right as the sun is rising or right as the sun is setting. A few on finesse ned-rig and a few on chatter bait. Just curious what people thought and how they would do things. There are supposedly striper in the lake as well but I haven’t fished the deeper water by the dam much at all and I’d be curious if anyone would try that and what to try.
