too much leg!. but it’s a scratch. I cant imagine a crack below the reel seat unless something crazy happened like slamming it in a door, but even then I wouldn’t think that would crack the sturdiest part of the rod

if its a crack you squeezing it will cause it to move and make a sound. If it is a crack st croix will replace it.
