What is the purpose of the red control (middle of pic) for my 89 Johnson motor? It still runs but shakes on low idle but is fine at faster RPMs. I've adjusted it while the motor is running, but doesn't seem to make a difference. TIA!

My guess is an RPM adjuster, from my understanding it controls your minimum speed while in gear
