Another Ray Day for last night’s fishing trip. Started out the night with catching a bunch of Round Rays, then a big shovelnose guitarfish that fell off the hook at the last second. I was going to come home bummed out that I lost a big, quality fish.
However, just as I was about to leave, I heard my drag suddenly screaming again. I ran over and yanked my rod up in the air and kept tension on the line for 5 minutes, and I was pleasantly surprised o have pulled up a decent sized Bat Ray! It made up for the big shovelnose guitarfish I lost, and overall, I am very happy with yesterday’s fishing trip. A
Note: all of these fish were caught on squid with the dropper loop rig!
