Every kit I've gotten has these but I have no idea what they are for. Is it to make switching between spoons easier?

They’re wire leaders. They’re often used when targeting toothy fish like pike and bluefish to prevent their sharp teeth from cutting through standard lines like braid, mono and fluorocarbon.

  2. So you tie your line to the swivel and then the clip is there to easily switch out lures. It is also a heavier test line so it helps to prevent teeth from sawing your line off

  3. You use them in front on where your lure is to prevent pelagic hunting fish to bite through. Also good for Pike fishing.

Best brand i found is knot 2 kinky titanium leaders as they expand to ensure hook does not rip out as easily. Have still not found a fish that bites through them.

They’re wire leaders. They are meant to be used for toothy fish like pike and musky. Although, I wouldn’t throw 30 pound leader for either.

  5. Wire leader. Used when fishing for toothy fish. I use a small one when I’m fishing down in the lower keys, there’s always a thousand little barracudas trying to steal your bait (and your hook if you don’t have a wire leader)
