Just bought a second hand used kayak, the Hobie mirage outback, I recently took it out for a ride and noticed water going above the footwell and inside of the cockpit, I’m not sure if this is normal for pedal drive kayaks since this is my first kayak. After leaving the water I noticed that there was water inside of the hull. I’m not too sure if this is normal but I’m concerned about it. Pior to getting in the hull was empty and immediately after getting out is when I heard it. If there’s anyway to stop it from happening If it’s not normal please send any tips or advice

Note: the water was a bit aggressive to the point where it would fly above and get into the kayak, whenever I hit bigger waves, wind speed approx. 8 mph

What I had: cooler with ice, casting net, 2 fishing rods, bucket for live shrimp, wheels, a life vest, and myself 206 lbs male, I also had an anchor that broke by the hedges in the ocean at one point 5lbs
