I made a post asking for suggestions for a sub $100 reel for my medium light rod, and the general consensus was between three options
The Diawa Fuego
The Shimano Nasci
The Okuma Ceymar (local favorite)
I received a few call outs for various others (castling, abu-garcia etc) but they were not contenders
Went to my local store (sportco) and fondled all the reels I could, I played with the fuego, the Ceymar, the Nasci and a bonus Sahara and a Vanford (Jesus Christ what a nice reel)
Eventually I ended up with the Okuma, but the HD model (size 3000). For no reason I can differ it just made me happier than the Fuego.
Cheaper, doesn’t do that weird magseal thing that needs special lube and is well regarded in my neck of the woods
Love it so far but will be hammering it for the next few weeks catching for the wi tee
