Do I still need to put the line back trough the eyelid of the hook even if the hook is already perfectly straight up?

I mean if it supports your bait like that no? I always feed the tag end back through the eye though. I’ve never had one stand horizontal correctly without doing that.

Yes you always should. I fish the drop shot all year round. Its the only bait thats on my deck 24/7 365. I would never fish it without sticking the tag end thru.

You don’t need to. I never lost a fish because I didn’t stick the tag end back through the eye of the hook. Matter of fact, I never do unless I somehow tied it wrong with the hook facing down and just needed to correct it.
