Hello all, my friend and I were fishing at one of my favorite spots to catch red drum yesterday and he actually found this Abu Garcia ambassadeur in a bush! Now, I know these are pretty decent reels, as I had an older ambassador and I loved it (got taken out to sea but something huge unfortunately). Anyway, I want to do something nice for my friend and maybe send this reel off to be rebuilt. I know it’s probably cheaper to just buy a new one but he’d be super stoked if I got him this (along with a nice casting rod) for Christmas, as he doesn’t really have any nice inshore setups. Do you guys think it can be saved? Everything seems to spin fine, but there’s a disconnect between the spool and the reel itself it seems. Any advice or recommendations on where to send it would be greatly appreciated!
