Until now my favorite lure was the Rapala jointed minnow (rainbow trout) which still is an awesome lure, but I’ve been smoking them lately with top water poppers. Nothing too crazy, few downward pops and steady retrieve with this popper. Included a few pauses throughout as well. There’s something much more fun about fishing a popper than a wacky plastic/Texas rig.
