It's been years since I've gotten to setup an aquarium! My daughter (4) has always loved seeing the 'pretty fish in the cups'. So I decided to setup a dedicated Betta tank and got it cycled.
When we got to our local pet store, the halfmoon male she picked out was admittedly not quite a 'looker', but she fell in love with him.
The change in his appearance after his first week in a proper aquarium has been astonishing! She named him Peaky.
