Looking into better drive methods for my new kayak, Wilderness Systems radar 115 with a sonar unit in the pedal drive spot. I was looking at pedal drives and realized… what the hell is thr point? Why are people paying this much for pedal drives when trolling motors are cheaper and faster? I've gotta be missing something…

you need to register your boat then in most states. also need to buy a battery which is not cheap.
I like the hands free nature of pedals. I can change direction, speed, hold my position, all while my hands are busy and I don’t need to worry about batteries.
