What kind of fish will this catch?

  1. Pretty much everything save for maybe pike and cats. Panfish and bass will go crazy for a crick hopper.

Bass, bluegill, lots of predatory but small fish, get rid of that snap swivel please

  3. It should work for large or smallmouth bass. I imagine it’s a floater! Ps. The treble hook looks like it’s in the guide. That could nick it and cause abrasion , costing you the biggest fish of your life!! Slightly dramatic!!

  4. Oh boy, one of my favorite panfish lures right there! A true blast for summertime Bluegill. Just wake it slowly across the top!

It’s a panfish or Bass lure, it runs a foot or so below the surface. On the right day it can be fun and there will be the occasional 14 – 16 inch smallie

  6. I love lures like this. I don’t know what this looks like to a bass, but I’m skeptical that “grasshopper” would be the top answer on the board. Fish just be like it’s moving might be food. My favorite was a red-winged blackbird lure I saw a while back. Like a *Field&Stream* cover come to life.

Good luck. Fishing with lures like this is fun.

  7. This bad boy right here doesn’t go too deep, like a few inches. In fact, it’s mostly a floater from my experience. Great top watering bait around sunrise and sunset. Depending on the time of day(midday to late afternoon usually), I’ll add a split shot about 4-6 inches above my knot to drop it a little deeper in the water column. Where im at in eastern Washington, I’m usually hitting Smallies and the occasion large mouth & bluegill.

  8. I’ve caught a ton of nice trout on those in smaller creeks. It will for sure catch bass and all sorts of panfish… Personally I’d ditch the snap swivel. It doesn’t takes much weight on the nose of small bait like that to change the action.
