I have only been fishing for a couple years and just started attempting to use hard plastic lures.
I tried using a lipless crank bait today and did a slow retrieve. Somehow I caught this carp on the dorsal fin and it put up a wicked fight. I was using a TFO UL 6’6” with 8lb mono. Took a few minutes to get him in. I think I got really lucky catching this big guy(for me).
Later on I went to a local pond that gets stocked for trout. I used a small trout slayer soft plastic on a jig head.
Just want to say to the peeps that it’s worth it to keep going and practicing. I’m a city guy that recently moved to the Midwest. I learned all my fishing with reddit and YouTube. One of my favorite subs.
Tight lines.
