DIY tip/hack:
I want to give my betta as much natural enrichment as possible. It had been impossible to find a hammock that isn't plastic (i know some are safe but I still don't like the leaching. Overbearing betta mom here lol)
I then had this $7 palm husk from Betta Botanicals, took out the suction cup from his old plastic hammock, glued it together…and now he has a natural hammock! 😄
The palm husk softened after boiling and I cut through it in case he gets trapped but I think atm he can fit through both ends. Anyway, just wanted to share for those also looking for natural hammocks!
The palm husk will form biofilm (great for shrimps) and disintegrate over time but that's how nature is meant to be 🥰
