Pardon my ignorance, but this deal on a Reddington 4wt Trout Spey kit appears to be a pretty solid price but would this be a pretty dumb mistake as an intro set up for general Colorado fly fishing (perch, trout, etc.)? Can you perform regular casting with this in addition to two handed spey casting (again, I don't know what I'm talking about other than some quick YouTube and Google searches to see what all this even means). Otherwise from searching it seems like the 9' 5wt (Clearwater, TFO, Reddington) with a moderate reel (Battenkill, Behemoth, Lamson Liquid, with some quality line (SA) is the standard recommendation to get started (that and going to local fly shop, which I should probably do since there are many in my area!).

Thanks for any thoughts here!
