I ended up not going with another rod I liked before. I’ve heard of TFO but am seeing mixed reviews online. Would this be a good entry level rod? I’d mainly be starting with trout and bass

Excellent choice, be weary of used gear before you know what to look for. Line and eyelets will ruin your day.
