Trout season is less than a week away and already here in some lakes but last year I only caught 2. I was using 10lb zebco and size 4 bait holders when I caught my first one (incredibly difficult and not a fun time) then 6lb and a size 6 octopus the second time. I Also caught one after trout season while carp fishing on a hair rig and spring feeder with 20lb leader but I don't really count that as he was just confused. This year I have a car and plan to go to different lakes and ponds for trout. My current setup I'm thinking of is a 6lb main line,1/16-1/8 sliding sinker, a little swivel, with a 2/4 lb leader, a size 12 salmon egg or size 18 treble and a little tiny bit of power bait. I need a new ultralight combo so I'm gonna buy soon but should I take my main line down to 4lb stren? What colors of powerbait do I need? I currently have hatchery pellet/brown, red glitter, yellow glitter, and some chartreuse glitter garlic from 2011. The pond I'm going to be fishing the most is very murky like less than a ft visibility but all of the resivoirs and other ponds are super clear
