the rod is a 6’6 medium it was given to me by a friend and i didn’t know if it was any good or if i should just let it sit

That’ll clean up ok… get some more line on that spool and you’ll cast a good distance

There’s a heck of a lot worse setups that still catch fish. Yours isn’t the newest but it’ll do. Now get fishing! 🎣

Old school Shimano reel absolute classic, looks like an early 2000s. I’m using one on my ugly stik beater rn it’s great and reliable. Old shimano has a different feel, but it feels well built.
