So I moved to the west coast/SF bay area and have been fishing the bay for striped bass off the shore. I want to start using my freshwater setup for strictly striped bass fishing and was wondering if there’s anything I should be cautious of? The stripers I catch average 18-26” and 3-6lbs so this setup should handle them fine right?
My setup is a Shimano Poison Ultima 7ft Medium rated for 3/16-1/2oz lures. Reel is a Shimano Stella 2500HG.
I’m thinking of putting Gosen 16x PE1.0 200m on the Stella as I have 10lb Seagar Tatsu fluoro currently on and prefer braid in saltwater. I’m not sure if 200m will fill my spool properly as the stella doesn’t have any specifications for braid on it.
Just a note, I have a 9’6 rod that I use for striper currently but I want to have a lighter option available to use, hence why I want to convert this setup.

You should check but I was my understanding the Stella FK is not meant for salt water abuse. What I did was just get myself the new twin power XD for salt and it has been 👌🏻
