Old reel was making grinding sounds while reeling. Opened it up to find rust inside. No rust on the gears, just up top here. Is there anything I can do about?

If you can still get parts anything is fixable. Is fixing it worth the time, effort, and cost of parts?

might still be salvageable tbh. i’d try cleaning it with some wd-40 and a soft brush then regreasing the gears. my dad taught me that trick and it’s saved a few of my reels.
