Hello I was messing around rigging up my fishing rods for my next trip and I was curiously trying out new ideas for a double hook setup and I wanted to see if someone has tried or has input on this idea.
I rigged up these 2 hooks the triple hook at the bottom and the normal one top, the top hook is knotted in a way where it won't come off if a fish tries pulling on it but it has enough slack to move freely, ideally towards the triple hook at the bottom.
So my idea is if a fish were to hook on the top hook and tried pulling away, it would hook onto the triple hook aswell increasing my chances of catching it.
Once again I'm asking for your opinion on this setup, has anyone tried this before? Does this setup have a name?

Check your laws and regs about hook numbers and snagging
Serious question, why would you want to hook into a fish anywhere but his mouth on purpose? Maybe I don’t understand your concept here, but that’s how I saw it with the treble hook as a “backup” if it tries to get away.
Something similar is used here on the west coast for fishing dead anchovies for halibut or Striper, called a stinger hook.
If there is a chance you would want to release the fish I don’t suggest hooking it anywhere but it’s mouth (other than that not sure if it’ll work)
Don’t use a treble hook with bait, it’s a giant pain in the assembly and usuall messes up the fish pretty bad .
Look up different ways to rig a hook on YouTube and I promise your catch rate will go up.
But whatever that is it that good.
This is a fairly common way to rig up live bait. The single hook through the nose and the second hook would be the “stinger” placed on the back of the fish closer to the tail. Again, look up the regulations of where you’re fishing to make sure this is allowed.
