I caught a few rainbow trout recently with orange tinted fins, and after some research it looks like this can happen if their diet contains a lot of crustaceans? I ended up keeping this one, and I found mostly fresh water snails in its gut, which im assuming isnt the cause for the coloration.
Im from the PNW, and from what ive heard, we dont have a lot of fresh water shrimp here (maybe I was misinformed) so im wondering if anyone knows what could be tinting their fins like this, and what flies would imitate that well
