I bought this cause I wanted to cast light lures and they said that this is the reel for it under 80$, but it’s been backlash after backlash no matter what I do with the settings. And the magnetic break dial seems to do absolutely nothing, or at least turning it seemingly has no effect on performance Is it a fluke or just a bad reel, or am I not using it properly?
And no, I’m not bad with baitcasters.

What country are you in? In the US, I’d have never heard of this reel personally, and I feel like im pretty up on the new stuff since I have a fishing problem. Lol
Also , what rod are you using? Ive had reels that ive paired with the wrong rods when I was new to casters, they wont work a lot of times without the right setup.
Could be the braid. I fish baitcasters and use braid. Mainly daiwa j braid, power pro or FINS. Academy has a clearance on some of their suffix (don’t remember which one). Almost every cast was a backlash.
What do you consider a light lure? What kind of line are you using? Have you set the spool tension at all or just tried the mag brake?
Line looks like 10lb power pro maybe? I have no experience with that reel but I use 10lb power pro and jbraid grand without any issues on my bfs setups. What weight lures are you throwing? What rod?
Nope. Mine works fine. No issues what so ever. Great reel
For the price. The lighter you go, you have to dial the tension in carefully.
