Caught my PB largemouth last year. 6.5 pounds, 25 and a quarter inches long on an 8 inch long snake lure. I'm in S Carolina.
I keep pretty good records of all of my catches. I don't have a lot of hours fishing yet, only started last year, and I don't catch much of a quantity when I go out so it's pretty easy to keep up with. I fish from a pond prowler or a canoe mostly. I was surprised to look at the dates of my top 10 catches. One is in June, two are in November, and the top seven are in October. Six of the fish are four-pounders, one five-pounder and the PB in the picture at six.
A big thanks to this group. I didn't grow up with anyone who taught me how to fish. I've been learning from everyone's comments and reading a lot of Al Lindner and In-Fisherman books that were recommended here. I feel like I'm finally confident when I go out there, but I will say I'm an idiot when it comes to figuring out how to use a jerkbait or fishing structure I can't see. I've caught nothing worth talking about on those. Maybe this is the year.
