Anyone have experience w a Daiwa Certate 14k. Looking for tuna popping. The only issue I’m thinking … it says it has 52.9” per crank. And I’m just wondering if the gearing would be good for torque when needed. Thnx

Gear ratio is fine, XH would give you less torque. Most important think with a reel where you need high torque is that the handle is long. The gears will hold, they can be under much stress. Torque = Force x Distance from the axis of rotation. It matters most that the length of the handle is long. What is long? Whatever they put on a 14k should be long enough most likely. Aftermarket could take that to another level If the stock is not enough.
