Took some of my oldest/best friends on a WNC fishing trip this past weekend. All three thoroughly enjoyed fishing, and we all caught a ton! Some really colored-up brookies, a ton of obvious stockers, great camping, and just a good time overall.
We went to a DH stream that had JUST been stocked (coincidence and not planned, but we'll take it!) so it got a bit boring for me (fished Friday morning solo and pulled out ~50 by lunch), but I did pull out one hog among all the stockers, at least.
Two friends had done very little or no fishing at all, but one of them had a lot of saltwater/surf casting experience, so he was off and running pretty quick.
Everyone caught fish completely on their own, which was really great.
Shoutout to Tim from Marietta, GA, who I met on the water while I was fishing solo! Thanks for the gear suggestion and for being so cool!
