So I’m currently using a old ugly stick Shakespeare and I’m thinking of just buying a 25$ 7” rod or a ugly stick gx2 7” tomorrow, I currently have https://www.amazon.ca/Piscifun-Viper-Spinning-Fishing-2000-6-2/dp/B08HQC6ZB5 which I bought a few weeks ago, would this work on and cheap rod I buy as long as it’s medium action? For some reason I’m casting with half oz weight and getting no distance, I think my life weight is the problem and possibly my reel don’t have enough line on it when I went out today. So tomorrow I’m planning on buying by a new rod and some 10lb braid possibly 15 since my reel recommends it but I want to go for 10 since I’m targeting trout mainly . Any suggestions or tips, maybe an idea on a rod to buy, money isn’t really a issue but I don’t want to spend a fortune
