Im a Norcal freshwater fisherman (mostly bass). Decided to get a couple of saltwater combos to surf fish during the winter months for surf perch, halibut, etc. Took her out yesterday to Pacifica and got my first fish! Caught a sand crab on my lucky craft, tied on a c-rig and rigged on the crab, and a few casts later I was hooked up! Cool and validating to read the beach, find a trough, switch presentations, and hook up! Granted not my target fish (I think it’s a big smelt?), but excited to expand my skills as an angler!
