Do you guys use single hooks or treble hooks on your striped bass lures?
Personally, I use single hooks. When you’re in a school of fish and you need to quickly get them back in the water it makes getting the hooks out of their mouths easier.

I’ve been moving toward singles more and more. Lately I’ve been fishing Bucktails/jigheads so that there is only a single hook on the lure. Any time I find myself catching on a lure with a treble these days I hate the unhooking and release.

As my trebles need replacing i use singles.
Why are you tying direct with braid? That you’re going to get cut off or pop the hook. Get 18-24″of mono or fluoro on there

What style hook do you replace with? Is that like a mosquito hook?

I use barbless singles on everything

Treble in the belly, single rear, barbs crushed.
If it’s a blitz, I use a bucktail, jighead, tin, etc so it’s just one hook.

Of course it depends on the plug
