I thought to make a new thread to compare 2 different braids that they sell in EU. Yesterdays thread : https://www.reddit.com/r/Fishing_Gear/comments/1p3585a/comment/nq31lfi/?context=1 Now i was able to get my hands on another manufacturers braid. The results were "weird" to say the least. PowerPro super slick V2 states those numbers on the spool, and it is not bad, it actually managed 7-8 kg in brake test, Sufix numbers also shown above, i did not get over about 5.5kg out of this. So one of those two presents wrong numbers here, is it diameter or strength, idk. But they look actually pretty equal in my photo i took with macro lens (maybe the PP is slightly coarser, all tough it should be the slimmer one if we read the specs. Anyway, interesting.

  1. Braid is allways going to vary in dimension just by how it’s made. It’s also hiw they measure the dimension, some braids are flat when under tension some are round. Most are underrated comapred to how much they can hold, most are thicker than they say. Particularly Berkley whippash that’s aboit three times as thick as is stated on the spool.

This happens with most braid companies regardless of region, they’re rarely ever what they’re advertised as. JDM braids get the closest to their advertised test/diam, Gosen and Sunline particularly.
