Literally just got this line, core isn’t frayed or cut at all, just the coating. Really don’t wanna spend another 100 on new line

Cut it off and get a piece of mono about the same diameter as the fly line.
Tie it onto the end of the fly line with a nail knot and then make a loop on the other end.
Now you can still make easy loop to loop connections.
It was going to happen at some point anyways. Some people cut the loop off as soon as they get it.

Clip it off and use a knot, like a nail knot or there may be others, to attach a short section of mono or fluoro directly to it. Something about the same diameter as the top of a leader. Then tie a perfection loop about 4-6 inches from that junction and you have your loop to loop connection.

Can someone explain to me why everyone always says to tie a piece of mono on there and then make a perfection loop? I’m sure I’m missing something. It just seems like another failure point.

They make braided loop replacements. Works kind of like a Chinese finger trap with some added glue your in it to win it.
